Each Village will include an accredited school for pre-k thru 12th grade within the Education Program that will
provide quality education for the children who live at the Village. Short-term, vacation instruction in cultural arts
and athletics will be available to these children.
The Rafiki Medical Program will provide on-going care for those in the Village, and will be periodically opened to
the local community for weeklong clinics as medical personnel are available. Developing countries have very few,
if any, resources to give public health aid to their citizens, many of whom have little access to routine medical care.
The intention of The Rafiki Foundation is to minister not just to those who live on Village grounds but also to the
surrounding communities. With the village concept, we will be able to provide a desperately needed center of hope
and help in areas of extreme poverty.
Since our goal is to develop these children to be godly contributors to their countries in Africa, we do not
facilitate the adoption of these children out of their countries, nor do we plan on educating them in the United
States. Instead, we will raise and educate them in their home countries so that they will remain and provide the
much needed leadership and help in their own culture.
By focusing our efforts on the children and youth of Africa, we hope to change the lives of those who will have the
greatest impact on the future of their countries. |
