Perspectives
February 2010 (PDF:295k)

Do you ever wonder about other people’s perspectives? I certainly do. Living and working in Ghana, I often wonder. I wonder about the perspectives of the twenty-nine orphaned children who moved to Rafiki during 2009, children who had never seen a white person before. What do they think of this place with running water, electricity, toilets, and beds? What do they think of the strange smiling obrunis (white people) who take their pictures and the dozens of children and Rafiki Mothers who hail their arrival with shouts of “Akwaaba” (You are welcomed!) and songs of praise?
