The Real Reason

“But Mommy, where did you get the money to buy
all of these new shoes?” one of our children at the Rafiki Village asked after opening gifts on Christmas Day. “God has provided for us,” was her wise and truthful reply.
We have just passed through the first Christmas at the Rafiki Village in Zambia. More than anything else, we wanted the children to know the real reason for the celebrations. In Zambia they usually call it the “Festive Season” without much recognition of the birth of Christ. In our case, the children presented a program to the staff and their families about the birth of Jesus, God’s provision of our deepest need: A Savior.
