The Latest News From the Evans

You Shall Go Out in Joy
March 2008 (PDF:368k)
A cool, crisp, sweet aroma fills the air. It is 6:00 A.M. in the morning at the Rafiki Village in Moshi, Tanzania. Mt. Kilimanjaro looks radiant as the sun is rising to its east side with a puff of clouds looming below its peak. The trees and grass are green as the rainy season is just beginning and the birds’ chattering blends with the joy of a new day. In their own way they are “breaking forth into singing. . .” and rejoicing in the greatness of their Creator!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so greata cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God”
(Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV).

Daily prayer topics
SUNDAY — God would keep our eyes fixed on Christ as He leads us in teaching the orphans to be godly
contributors for Him in Tanzania (Hebrews 12:2; Matthew 28:20).

MONDAY — God would give us a humble and submissive spirit as we serve in Tanzania
(James 4:6–7; 1 Peter 5:5–6).

TUESDAY — God would preserve our faith in Him so that we may persevere through daily trials
(Hebrews 3:6; 6:11; 10:35–39).

WEDNESDAY — God would enable us to teach and lead in our Rafiki Village in Tanzania.

THURSDAY — God would give us favor with the government and local officials as we procure children
and administer the training Village

FRIDAY — Our prayer life would be continuous as a family as well as in private.

SATURDAY — God would provide a fruitful relationship with our partner church in Tanzania.
