MiniMission Stories

How God used ordinary people
in extraordinary ways

Stories from MiniMissionaries
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people
and continue to help them” (Hebrews 6:10).

Did God use you in ways that you did not expect? “God is always
way ahead of our ways and thoughts. His blessings were awesome.
The trip was on time and without problems.

The project was in need of someone that could help set up window
construction with the emphasis on woodworking. I felt at home as
I had spent many years doing woodwork and the men that were
working at the site were great.”

What changes has God made in you because you went on this MiniMission?
If you look for God’s work He will show you great and mighty things. This was no exception as He opened my
heart to the needs of African people. The work at the site was only part of the blessing. Spending time with Stuart
Coiner, Tyler and Georgene Lunberry, Lisa and Shirlene gave me a new awareness of the wonderful hearts God
has created in the ROS staff....”
Warren Lenon; July, 2002 MiniMission to Kampala, Uganda

What were your expectations prior to your trip?
I had seen God at work through the ministry of Rafiki and wanted to join Him in that. How, I had not a clue. And
why India, when it was the one place I never wanted to go — I couldn’t guess. But I went expecting God to reveal
Himself to me and see Him at work in India. And I did!”

What changes has God made in you because you went on this MiniMission?
I came home repentant of my lack of prayer for people in the field that I’ve supported for years financially — and
determined to be more disciplined and available to pray more for them and my new friends in Chennai and not leave
them unprotected or unencouraged.... It is time to further cut down on frivolous spending and be a better steward of
resources God has given me.”

What do you want to do in the future as a result of this MiniMission work?
I want to tell what I saw through whatever means God allows and encourage the ladies and men here at home to pray
and give, then pray and go! I expect to enlarge the scope of influence wherever doors open to present through video
and still pictures, the evidence of God at work in India.”

Would you like to go on another MiniMission?
Definitely! I didn’t plan on going on this one – so God will have to direct again. I would desire to go with my
family next time and share it.”
