How to Start a Rafiki Prayer Group

Purpose
To serve God by supporting the ministry of The Rafiki Foundation by becoming partners in prayer for ROS
(Rafiki Overseas Staff), the Rafiki Villages, and Rafiki Home Office.

Starting a Rafiki Prayer Group
Individuals who are interested in starting an Rafiki Prayer Group (RPG) may contact the Home Office at
407-557-2850 or e-mail rpg@rafiki-foundation.org. RPGs are registered with the Home Office so that we may
provide monthly updates and information to help the group get started.

Each group chooses a leader who has e-mail capabilities and wants to serve God through Rafiki. If the group leader
does not have e-mail access, an alternate contact with e-mail is selected to receive monthly center and prayer updates.

Rafiki Prayer Group meetings
Groups are encouraged to sponsor one or more Rafiki Village. Each group receives prayer cards for the Village they
support, a video to show at the first meeting ($6 cost), and brochures to help invite others to join in this ministry.

The group leader establishes a regular meeting time and place. Monthly meetings are preferable. Group members
may include family, friends, church members, neighbors, and others interested in providing prayer support of
God’s Word at Work through Rafiki.

A suggested meeting format may include

1. A short Bible study
2. Refreshments and fellowship
3. Updates from the Village, ROS, Rafiki Home Office, and MiniMissions.
4. Prayer for the Village, ROS, students, and children at the Village, and Rafiki Home Office.
5. Discussion of ways the group may wish to provide additional support for the Village. For example, RPGs
   may participate in Rafiki’s ministry by providing support through finances, promotion of products sold at
   the Rafiki Exchange, or participating in MiniMissions.

• Promotion — Sale of Rafiki products perhaps via a Rafiki open house or at your church store. Please contact

• MiniMissions — RPGs can also participate in or promote MiniMissions at their Village. Please call

• Finances — could include supporting specific needs of a Village, general support of the Village, or an ROS.
