Review of Praying the Attributes of God

Praying the Attributes of God
By Rosemary Jensen,
Former Director for Bible Study Fellowship International

In the fall of 1996, my friend Susan invited me to attend a women’s bible
study with her. Having never attended a bible study before, I accepted her
invitation out of mere curiosity. I figured intellectually I could benefit
from knowing a bit about the Bible. After all, what could it hurt? This
study, Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), changed my life. Within weeks of
reading about Israel and the Minor Prophets, I came to know Christ as my
Lord and Savior. What I thought would be an academic study turned into
a life-changing spiritual transformation. Needless to say, BSF holds a
special place in my heart. So when I discovered Rosemary Jensen had
published Praying the Attributes of God, I was more than eager to devour
its pages.

Praying the Attributes of God contains daily devotions on the magnificent
characteristics of God. Instead of focusing on opinion, Jensen provides
scripture verses illustrating each attribute. The multitude of scripture
readings convinces even the youngest believer of our heavenly Father’s
unfailing love for His children. Praying the Attributes of God uses a
simple approach – read the word of God, then pray and reflect. I was amazed
by the power of using this simple approach. God humbled me by reminding
me I have spent too much time relying on opinions and commentaries instead
of going to straight to Him. What better way to know our Father than to focus
on His word?

Praying the Attributes of God collects the scripture verses for us, so in
times when we need emergency proof of God’s love for us, we’ve got it.
We’ve got the armor we need to face the adversities of everyday life.

Christian women everywhere will benefit from the scriptural devotions found
in Praying the Attributes of God.
